I love the rustic look of this house; the deep blue with the light wood on the exterior, the gray bricks on the fireplace, the hardwood floor, and the windows are great! The built-in shelves in the living room and the long counter in the kitchen give so much extra room. I think this house out by a lake would be a dream!

What I love so much about AVN - gorgeous exteriors that are so upgraded from normal tiny house designs. Always so much built in shelving, obviously this designer is a book lover as am I and no matter how much I would be willing to downsize a lot of books still have to be included. Lastly I can't quite describe it but there is a very modern American farmhouse feel but a European vibe always going on. Just very elegant in a low key way but really I guess that's what elegance is. Well done as usual.

OMG! This place has a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, and it has closets in the bedroom. It is gorgeous and has everything I want.

I would make a few tweaks (let’s get real, we all make tweaks to make it ‘perfect’ in our own minds) to make it OUR perfect ADU:
1. Delete the second bedroom and expand the kitchen/great room area into there. That would also give the space for a pantry and a proper dining table for four (we love to have friends join us for dinner); and
2. Expand the now singular bedroom into the existing great room space to just give room for a coat closet/cupboard to the left of the entry door as you come in. That would give space for a walk-in closet, which holds a myriad of storage for us (including our linens).

Thank you for sharing your talent and keen design eye with us. I have already saved some of your design ideas as inspiration for our retirement nest. I’m not sure what my aesthetic is actually called, but I laughingly call it “Down home comfort with uptown elegance”; clearly you know what it’s called as you showcase it in it’s of your designs! 💖💖💖

This house has good placement of the rooms. But the patio furniture should be in the back off the kitchen. If someone was trying to sleep you can't entertain with the patio furniture coming off the side of the bedroom. You would wake them up. The front porch should be made deeper as well.
