Lego Sentinel steam truck/lorry

The famous sentinel steam waggon adopted to lego, based on the Super Sentinel, except the engine, which is completely different. I used a 4 cylinder single acting engine, mounted horizontally within the chassis, with the pistons moving sideways, like a boxer engine. This was necessary on one hand to save precious space, and on the other to provide adequate power for such a heavy beast.

The suspension is similar to the one used in my steam car, a simple rigid axle suspension with leaf springs.

The lorry has chain drives, one for each rear wheel, and a differential mounted not in the axle, but in the chassis, just like the real one. It also has a linear gearbox and a clutch. Furthermore it's fitted with headlights, and a lamp within the boiler, just for the looks.

That is a great looking Lego model based on a Sentinel. Must have taken a bit to get the design of the engine small enough and powerful enough.
