Wait why should dx/dtheta be equal to zero?

The logic that dy/dtheta = 0 for parallel, so dx/dtheta must equal zero for perpendicular lines seems intuitive, but do you not get a divide by zero error when you do this? i.e., when you wrote dy/dx = dy/dtheta x dtheta/dx, the dtheta/dx is 1/0, which can't exist.
