Let your feline friends come and go as they please with the PetSafe® Microchip Cat Flap. The flap only locks and unlocks when it senses your cat’s microchip. Installation is an easy do-it-yourself project and we’ll also give you quick instructions in this video.

With the PetSafe® Microchip Cat Flap you never have to worry about uninvited cats sneaking into your home again. The flap on the door only unlocks when it senses your cat’s implanted microchip or a collar key. It can also be set up to allow entry for multiple cats, while unwanted visitors are kept outside. Installing the Cat Flap is an easy project and we’ll give you the quick “how to“ instructions in this video.

Oh how these lovable gentle soul monsters control our lives and have us wrapped around their paws.

Bought one for our 2 cats works great. No Batterie problems with the 2022 version. Our Cats took a while to get used to it but now it works really good.

It wasn't until I just saw the latest 'Simon's Cat' that I had any idea such a product existed. Brilliant~!!!

Does not show you how it reads the cats chip ? do you put the cats head through or can you just hoover over the cat ?

Does the fully locked mode mean that only the cat with the chip can enter it? Having it on in and out, any animal can get in? The 4-manual lock is unclear.
Also, my 2 cats have not figured out that they have to push through to get in/out. One is actually scared of the cat flap.

Right type of microchip? I didn’t even know there was such a thing as different types.

We have had a new pesky neighbour cat move in who started coming in and spraying in our house and upsetting our cats. We have installed this catflap but our three cats will not use it as they are terrified of the click when they approach. What do you suggest?

Is it better than the catmate which doesn't actually work

Ye not sure on this product yet, the one cat in terrified of the latch noise, which is loud! Normally runs away! And then there's the timer which you can't change! never gives them long enough to figure it out! And the other cat sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, she Normally has her face pushed up in the glass ! Disappointed in this, got this to resolve nieghbours cat eating all our cats food. Solved one problem and caused a new list of problems!

It does not stop stray cats coming in to your home, they simply claw at the edge and pull it up towards them, an expensive lesson. Cats are too clever!!

Does it work for only animals that are chipped or have the magnet, also if my neighbor's cat has a microchip, can he come in, or does each microchip have to be registered somehow?

Is this battery operated or plug in?
What happens when the battery dies?

I'd like to have Techmoan do the other cats voices haha

We can't programme ours - the instructions in the manual don't correspond with what happens when you press the button to activate the red light - so the chip has not been registered....

Do they make doors that come with the microchip? My vet said to buy the door and that it comes with a chip. I wanted to make an appointment but they said to get the door first with the chip. I can’t seem to find any that come with the chip.

I got 2 cats both r microchip but this product might not work for them since they have to wait a little bit before enter, because with my previous catflap my cats like to run with speed through the catflap to go in or out sometimes.

I have this and it has never been able read my cat's chip.

I need door with 3 options: always locked, locked without key, always open. I'd like to switch these 3 modes remotely. Do you know any hardware for that?

Careful here.... you might end up with a very expensive standard door! The cat did try to open it because at the time it was her only way in... but it would open... then lock again... then open again.... then lock again... even on the ten second timer! She was trying to figure it out and couldn't. Cat still hasn't opened the flap. Cat is now seriously confused. So it's now set as a normal cat door which after her bad experience she still tries to avoid. Love my cat too much to put her through that shit. There's also the loud "clack" when it opens. What cat is going to like that? Then there's the fact that the door doesn't always end up in the correct position. You have strong magnets yes....but they don't always work. Those strong magnets also work against smaller cats. They don't push hard enough for the flap to open. They just give up and rather spend their energy looking for an open window! They're cats... they are skittish animals at the best of times. Just sayin'. For me it was a waste of money.... should have left my old door alone.
