Let's Play Kingdom Death: Monster - Lantern Year One

We're joined by the wonderful Chris Handley from Darker Days Radio to play through Kingdom Death: Monster and what more fitting day to do so than Halloween.

Here we're attempting Lantern Year One where Justin, Warren, and Chris are looking to survive against monsters and more in the darkness.

We're loving this game and can't wait to continue the series and see if we can survive!

Okay so we opened it up on Monday and assembled the miniatures and played, it was the most hilarious and awesome RPG experience we've had for awhile. In short the crowning moment was when one of my friends got knocked down by the white lion and was in danger, I decided to throw my founding stone to try and save him and do some damage....flipped the hit location...hit the lion straight in the bollocks with a critical wound. It cut his testes off which we received as a resource and I became the priority target of the lion with no exceptions. The card was hilarious and said I hit him right in the ding dong and that he was livid. The Lion was super pissed and it gave him +1 damage. Suffice to say the Lion attacked me with a power swat with 3 damage, I went flying 6 squares with my arm ripped off and I died off shock. A fair trade I think since I cut off his balls lol. We were laughing so hard our stomachs hurt.

I think everytime Warran takes off his loin cloth and swings it around his head, everyone and the monster need to take off a insanity point :P

This was a such a great series. You have been such a big part of the Kingdom Death Monster community and I just wanted to thank you for that. I hope that you continue the series at some point. You videos brought so much attention this great game and I hope others feel just as inspired. You have inspired me to start a Let's Play of my own.

Billy Idol guy would make a EXCELLENT DM in a RPG. Guy is amazing at instructions and keeping pace. Youll see this if you watch threw all thier Lantern Years.

24:59, I believe it's "choose a random survivor" in field of view. You don't have the luxury of choosing. I usually roll off and the lowest scoring survivor gets attacked.

btw I noticed a mistake, the nominated survivor uttering the first word gains +1 courage, but also must be the one staring at the lantern hoard for +1 understanding, so warren can't go to hunt next year if he is uttering the first word ::)

You misplayed at least one monster attack where it was supposed to target the closest survivor within it's movement range, but otherwise it's nice to see this great game to get some more attention :)

I just want to say thank you for this video. I've watched it several times without having had the game. But yesterday I finally got 1.6 and I've built my survivors and the White Lion. I'm going to watch this one more time and then dive in! Thank you again 😁

Recently managed to snag 1.0 and the 1.5 upgrade pack, and this by far is one of the best, most practical play throughs and how to plays out there. :)

I love these Kingdom Death Walkthroughs. They have helped my wife and I with our play through of our own game. I would love to see an entire full game play through (all the lantern years) I know that’s a lot of time but that would be amazing.

It would be cool to see some of the expansions and how to implement them into the game. Keep up the great work guys. Also, I just wanted to say I started listening to Darker Days Radio and I love it.
