The IBRAHIM BADAMASI BABANGIDA LEGACY DIALOGUE serves as a platform for leadership development for the African continent. The Dialogue encourages students of history and political science to analyze the impact of good policies for the growth of the Continent. This includes civil society, transformation agents and government.
The broad theme of this year’s Dialogue is “Issues in Africa’s Democratic Journey”.
This year’s dialogue and the lecture are set against the immediate backdrop of Nigeria’s 2023 transition election and the issues surrounding the triumphs and travails of democracy in the country. The major issues that will be canvassed at this year’s dialogue entail a public lecture by an outstanding statesman, public figure and scholar of international repute, goodwill messages from former presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and panel discussions from eminent discussants who will dissect issues raised by the lecture as well as deliberate on the topic.
