Nobody contest speed requirement for Patrol Boats !?!
Typical speed requirement for those boats are between 20 and 28 knots, the one most requested is 25 knots as for rescue boats too.
Nowadays we can consider this category as Patrol Gun Boat, especially with growing treat posed by drones, having territorial and contiguous waters as primary operative area.
Patrol Boat as USCG Sentinel class are instead primarly tasked on control of EEZ.
Over we have the biggest Offshore Patrol Vessel.
All of them have similar speed request with some push of highiest one in the smaller category.
Due to peace/war double utility it's impossible/hard to use those ships on Navy duty for legal reason being easier to integrate in Coast Guard because it is equiparated to Police (simplifying) and trained for.
Last heavily armed Patrol Boats are harbour security and submarine entry/exit escort.
Warship entry/exit escort should be tasked too, but usually is executed by personel armed with gun and rifle, being to me just a Police boat
