🌍 In this crucial episode, host Ade Adepitan leads an urgent and inspiring discussion on the actions needed to prevent global warming from exceeding 1.5°C. We explore the findings from CCAG’s report (linked below), featuring experts and activists from around the globe:

- Fiona Macklin (Groundswell)
- Alice Hill (CCAG, former Obama advisor)
- Zainab Bie (Climate finance advocate, India)
- Kamila Camilo (Social entrepreneur and activist, Brazil)
- Professor Mercedes Bustamante (CCAG)
- Carlos Rittl (Director of Public Policy, Forests & Climate Change, WCS, Brazil)
- Sir David King (CCAG founder, former science advisor to UK government)
- Ganesh Hegde (Research Associate, Princeton University - renewable energy, India)

Join us as we unpack the complex political, economic, and social challenges – and the path forward to a sustainable future. 🌱

The acceptance of defining the target temperature as a multidecade average is going to make it impossible to take the drastic measures needed to prevent worst case projections. We're going to be in excess of 2C before we admit to 1.5C.

Speaking of oil: It is a widely ignored fact that oil is no longer a SOURCE of energy, merely a convenient way of transporting it. To get it out of the ground, process it and then get it to where it is used, more energy is actually used than it provides.

"Giving up is not an option." Of course not but ignoring facts isn't, either. The goal of keeping global warming below 1.5 C is simply not possible any longer. That is not an opinion, that is pure measuring of temperature changes. We must not give up and do whatever we can to keep global warming as low as anyhow possible but we are way beyond keeping it below 1.5 C.

It boggles the mind that this 1.5C goal is still being mentioned by anyone on the planet. It's in the rear view mirror unless you are addicted to Hopium. Well, for those addicts, I guess virtually anything's possible.
