Feel like i should point out, Issac Newton didnt really stab his eye with a needle. He used a bodkin, a dull needle like object used for helping weaving something like ribbon through channels in fabric, and stuck it under his eye ball to see what would happen.

9:25 random guess, could be that the new light has a low CRI (color rendering index) and doesn't emit (enough) of the wavelength that reflects off that packaging so your eyes interpret it as "yellow". LEDs have peaks in the light spectrum they emit, so if those peaks are not properly picked, you can get colors looking washed out or simply "wrong" under those lights. That's why there's the recommendation to only use LED lighting with CRI values (sometimes called RA on the packaging) of >90 for spaces where you eat/prepare food, because otherwise it can look really disgusting.

9:10 As someone who collects figures (90% Transformers) I fully understand this; because depending on the plastic type different light temperatures can completely change the color, and I have a figure which due to my light always looks yellowed, despite it in actuality being only slightly off white.

I don’t really know what this effect is called, but very specific materials and paints can be heavily affected by light temperature, while others don’t appear to change much, if at all.

(And by ‘temperature’ I don’t mean it makes the room hot or cold for those confused, it’s the color of light given off by the bulb, typically in the range of blue/white/yellow)

9:53 That's HAIR ICE! Iirc, it happens when freezing moisture is slowly pushed out of a piece of wood as it expands, making it freeze in thin strands like this! It's amazing.

Actually got to try a pinkglow pineapple before, local grocery store got sent some on accident, and decided to sample it out. They're somehow sweeter and less tart than regular pineapples. The ones I saw were slightly more vibrant than the ham-colored ones in this vid. XD

I actually used those rentable theatre binoculars recently! Watching Hadestown in London and it was a small place but we sat all the way at the back and my blind ass had the time of my life actually being able to see the performers faces from time to time.

7:09 this is the new debate, humanity has already discussed when vintage becomes antique, now we need to decide how long it takes for cringe to become retro

Fun fact: that ice formation is believed to the description used for “mana from heaven” in the Bible. The translation of the word used in Aramaic to describe what the mana looks like isn’t actually known, but context clues describe basically that ice formation. Sometimes that kind of ice forms in the deserts around there.
