007 (Roger Moore) accompanies Milos Columbo (Topol) and his crew on a raid at Kristatos’ opium-processing warehouse in FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (1981). Director John Glen was pleased Topol joined the cast. He said: “He’s famous for Fiddler On The Roof, and I don’t think he can live it down. It’s rather like being an ex-James Bond, you can never shake it off.”

No over the top, pure old school action scene which was riveting all the way. For me it is among the top 10 action scenes in 007 franchise.

Bond and his allies performing a raid on the villain's base kind of is a staple/cliche of the series, but the comradery between Bond and Columbo is really believable and especially fun considering his crew are actually competent fighters who are not just bodies to be blown up or shot like some of the allies in Spy Who Loved Me or You Only Live Twice.

My favorite scene in FYEO. No CGI, no crash editing, no shaky cam, no over the top and unending explosion, no massive gun fights and over acted deaths. This scene shows Bond (with his trustworthy Walther PPK) being a marksman (not a Jason copycat) fights his way with pure class and sophistication. Such a classic scene that we will no longer see in the current Bond movies.

My first James Bond movie I ever saw. My third best 007 film of all time. To me if they made For Your Eyes Only during 1979 instead of Moonraker I feel this film wouldn't be a classic. Thank you George Lukas for creating Star Wars.
