I've been obsessed with emulation since Nesticle! It has come a long way since then, and virtually perfect on some consoles. Nice video!

I wish that I had seen this before I added my roms could have saved myself so much space but now I am compressing as much stuff as I can. I have already done all my PSX stuff will now do my PS2 stuff and while I am online I have big chunks of gamecube stuff converting. Thank you so much for this information you do incredible work.

The video I never knew I needed. That was really helpful. Thank you.

Just one thing for future videos that I would find helpful. I watch YouTube on my phone, like I'm sure most other people do too - sometimes I can't see what the file extensions are or file sizes are when you've got a folder view up. If you're pointing to a particular file or location, it would be helpful if you could just specify.

I couldn't see what the file sizes are of your Wii games between the original wbfs format to eventual compressed format to know if it's worth converting to iso and then converting again.

But that's a minor thing. As always, a REALLY helpful video.

This is golden - I couldn't figure out how to get it working on Zorin (Linux) but using the method in Windows was really easy. Along with saving space makes the whole PS1 game organization a lot easier as you only need one file per game. Thanks

Since I updated the mini PC I use for Batocera I can now play more games for PS2, gamecube, xbox etc.
Before I was fine just using the iso's but ofcourse now I can run more games I ended up compressing my PS2 roms to chd, (saved a ton of space), gamecube iso's to gcz and ofcourse most other cd based systems ive been using chd for ages now.
To bad xemu doesnt play chd 😁
I know it can play squashFS but I havent properly looked into that.
Sounds like a lot of work lol

Ive been using cso for psp, chd for segacd, dreamcast and saturn for ages and Im sure many do but for my Batocera PC build I still use pbp for ps1..although I did convert many to chd for my ps classic as I was only using a 256GB flash drive so storage space was more important.
On a handheld, Ill use chd for PS1 though. Providing the emu or core I use supports it.
Plus ofcourse many multidisc games can be used as 1 pbp file.
Ive never looked at compressing gamecube or ps2 games cause Ive never had anything that could run them lol
But now with my Lenovo PC I can, but for now Im fine with keeping them as ISO's cause for the games that run and the amount I have on, I still have plenty of space on my 2TB HDD.
I dont use video snaps either as they can take up way to much space, fine perhaps for a few systems but how many people use video snaps for all their systems and all their games? And for Batocera 30 we know there is an issue with sound from video snaps for many, me included.
So Im fine with the 3 or 4 image mix option skraper has. I use skraper on PC rather than the inbuilt version Batocera offers as it has more scraping options.
On another note Ive recently aquired the Powkiddy RGB10 Max handheld, if you dont know what it is check it out.
Its basically a clone of the odroid go super but improved.
Its not overly powerful and can only run select Dreamcast, N64 and PSP games, depending on what OS you use.
Theres quite a few diff OS's you can flash to an SD card.
In the end I narrowed it down to Batocera and Emuelec but in the end went with Emuelec. Had a few issues using Batocera for it.
Still uses ES front end and great for all round system emulation.
Still on process of setting it up too.

Thank you for a great video! Is there any quality loss when compressing game files?

PCSX2 now also support .chd format and it works better than the .cso format in general.

Good video but I’d recommend viewers who just want to know how to do this to put it on 1.5X speed

What are you using to play ps2 and gamecube games? Is this a mini console, or just on your pc? I have used my s9 tablet for ps2 but its combersome, and doesn't have video out. Would love a stand alone mini device like my genesis mini. A computer by the tv would take up too much space

Had problems changing txt into a cue file for some reason but you can always just download it at the bottom of the psx cue site once you drag and drop the bin file

Okay, still working on getting the God of War games for PS2. I can’t seem to get anything over 4GB on my USB. How do you get them on Batocera without the USB? My computer hard drive doesn’t show up on my batocera file manager.
