I love how the Steam Deck singlehandedly brought back the long dead market of portable pocket PCs from the 2000s (OQO and Sony made the majority of them in the 2000s).

I mean I'm certain this is exactly what Valve wanted to happen when they released the Steam Deck

Steam deck isn't dying anytime soon.

Steam deck still has a lot of input types for basically all games. That's still a good reason to pick the deck over other handheld PCs. From track pads, gyroscope and steam input. It still damn good for the price.

It's not all about the hardware, the steam library and steamos helps make it a great way pc gamers can use a handheld

The end game is something with the RP3+ formfactor, battery life, and zero fan noise but having the power of the steam deck.

There is no steam deck killer. Steam deck was successful and made its sales. Valve is not planning any hardware upgrades. So anything that comes out now is just a newer device that will draw in buyers.

I won't be surprised if it's very similar to Windows 8, just as long it's optimized as SteamOS

I thought the Ally was an April Fools joke.

I will be thoroughly shocked if the ROG ally costs less than $800 for the cheapest version. It does look pretty sweet, not gonna lie.

I'll always support steam deck based on what they were able to get to run on linux alone one step closer to getting away from Microsoft

I still perfer the steam deck since it has that touch pad thats perfect for mouse controls. And steam actually updates the steam deck with optimization.

Don't think I need windows on my steam deck, it finally supports all the games I want it to run. Halo MCC being the main one.

Steam deck isn’t even trying to be the best system
Them asus knowing them the price would be absurd
Plus steamOS with the decently priced system

You forget the steam deck starts at $399.99

Microsoft just skipping making a handheld Xbox entirely and just making a handheld mode for Windows, probably a smart move honestly.

My biggest complaint with any of these "SteamDeck killers" is none of them have touchpads

They make the PC mode usable and when playing computer games give you the ability to bind almost limitless buttons so you don't have to compromise with limited input

But also being able to aim with the touchpad is just so good
