I used to watch RTUSA a lot, back when he actually reviewed tech and gaming. Then he went almost pure podcast, talking about nothing but social issues, world events, politics etc.

I stopped watching. I have less than no interest in any of that. If he wants to set up a secondary channel to post that stuff, that’s fine. But to force it all into his main channel, forcing the viewer to have to examine if today’s upload is gaming related or some political diatribe? Not the smartest move. Sadly, it’s kind of meaningless that his channel is deleted. It hasn’t been relevant to a tech enthusiast for a time.

Rich has been going downhill for a while. He allowed the toxicity to infect him and control him. I used to watch him and really enjoyed his videos for years, but he allowed the people attacking him online to own his content. I gave up on him when he started attacking other YouTubers that I also liked, and was really grossed out. It wasn’t about his video game takes or tech reviews at all anymore. I checked in a while later and the guy was making out with plastic chickens. It was apparent he lost direction and control. Sad to hear he chose to unplug his career, but there is a chance this was the right decision for his mental health. If that is the case, I respect it.

rich is just a bad father. he ignored his kid awhile streaming, rich's mother came into the room begging him to take care of her but nooo.. and that was the begin and of the end.

Always enjoyed his channel and he was a early inspiration for my content on YouTube. He always had small little controversy's like with the camera and other stuff (you can go watch some docs on him), but none of it seemed too bad tbh up until his daughter started having her issues. From that point forward, Rich was never really the same. He started having lots of edibles (which there is nothing wrong with this, unless you're just strung out all the time), started getting really erratic at times with his content, lost his wife/gf, and then somewhere in there had this whole beef with Jay, one of the key guys that made his content what it was.

Rich has always talked about wanting to do grander plans with his channel and these retrospectives and actual tech reviews, but never followed through with the vision. Then he started streaming. STreaming, and streaming some more, and he saw how EASY it was for him to make money on streams. Go live for a couple hours a day, get thousands of viewers, and among them a small handful will consistently donate money - more money than his videos make.

So rich stopped his content imho, because he found out he could be lazy and just do streams instead reacting to bs and drama each day and make more than he was making on his main channel. So that's what he does.

He then tried to turn RTU more recently into a streams clips channel, and it wasn't doing that great. He felt like RTU was a anchor around his neck, but I actually think it was a reminder to him of what he once was. For better or worse.

I do not think he needed to delete the channel. He could have privated all the videos and took the channe; in a new direction. But that requires work. That requires follow through. And it's easier just to stream.

Compared to million dollar crypto scams, getting involved with minors, and everything else that YouTubers have gotten into over the years, I feel eBegging for a camera and shortchanging someone for $200 are pretty miniscule in the grand scheme.

Well after saying his channel is dead and "quitting" every 2 months for the last few years he finally ripped the bandaid off.
