I Made Old Curtains into a Victorian/Edwardian Walking Skirt! 1895 Pattern - Keystone System/ Guide

This late Victorian/Edwardian walking skirt made with a 1895 pattern from the Keystone Guide to Jacket and Dress Cutting was actually a breeze to make. In terms of both the pattern drafting and the making of the skirt itself, I found it simple and straightforward and it would be great for a beginner sewing project for anyone interested in vintage style, historical fashion, historical dress or history bounding.

I, once again used upcycled/recycled material in the form of old curtains I purchased second hand and was really happy with the results!

I made this skirt for a full costume inspired by my favourite book The Night Circus by writer Erin Morgenstern for the Foundations Revealed 2021 Contest.

Those stripes look so great and secret plain buttons is genius.

It's a cute skirt. Now I'm off to watch the rest of the videos in this series, as this popped up because I watched another video of yours.

I love the chevrons at the back. It might have been an annoying material to work with, but it does look good!

I made this pattern and I was so excited to show it off, so I put it on for my parents and a mouse chewed a giant hole in the butt. I legit cried.

The skirt is fabulous, it's a shame it's so attractive to cat hair, maybe you could carry one of those mini sticky rollers whenever you wear it 🙃 I really love skirts of this era when the back seam is on a bias, such fun seeing how a pattern or stripe works out and the way the back drapes is gorgeous

You skirt is lovely. I do have one question. Why did you cut out the darts? I'm quite interested in seeing the rest of this project.
