Toxic weedkillers have been banned from gardens across France this month. Households are no longer allowed to stock, never mind use, the chemical compounds, which are deemed a danger to the environment. Industrial use, however, continues. The world's most popular weedkiller, glyphosate, is still being spread in huge quantities. Some people say it is a safe solution to supplying enough food to feed the world. Others say it is clearly a poison which should be prevented.

To all you people on this thread; There are tests available to determine if you have Glyphosate in your bodies. If you're concerned, you can send a urine, blood or hair sample to be tested for Glyphosate. If you have glyphosate in you, then you can decide whether to worry or not. Keep in mind, Glyphosate was first patented in 1950 as an industrial chelator, so it is safe to assume if it's in your body, it's binding minerals within your body. Do you not wonder if that has any effects on your health? Secondly, Glyphosate is an effective defoliant because it blocks the Shikimate pathway. While mammals themselves don't use the Shikimate pathway directly, the vast majority of the thousands of various organisms that live in your gut and help you digest your food and obtain nutrition from it do use the Shikimate pathway. So it's idiotic or insane to think having Glyphosate in your gut does nothing to affect your health or, for that matter, the health of butterflies, bees, frogs bugs in the soil, fungi in the soil that exist symbiotically with all plantlife that are also exposed to this chemical. When was the last time you saw a frog? How many bees you been seeing lately? I remember in 1975 when we drove across the U.S. out windshield got covered in bug splatters. Anyone had that experience lately? Where have all the animals gone? What happened to the Monarch butterfly? Also keep in mind, Bayer AG who bought out Monsanto is a descendant of organizations who were knowingly involved in atrocities during WWII.

I am a paediatrician and this is not only linked to cancer. Autism which is affecting now 30% kids in UK, US and spreading world wide. The strict definition autism is currently rated at 3% in US but the wider neurodevelopmental spectrum is 30%. This rate is doubling every ten years. It is massive pandemic affecting our children and it is most likely caused by herbicides most noticeably Glyphosate.

Thank you Mrs Robin. The EU just decided to continue allowing it. Under pressure from the professional agricultural sector obviously. At least in France it is forbidden in my understanding, which is not the case in most European countries. I don’t live in France and am very carefully selecting the producers of what I consume, because I am very sensitive to toxics.

Our lawn was sprayed with glyphosate product two years ago by a new landscape company. The HOA didn’t notified homeowners and our dogs got sick . Majority the smaller dog like my 4 kg chihuahua who was sitting in that sprayed grass on that same day without knowing in it. On the same night she couldn’t breath, started throw up and got diarrhea. Till next morning when we run to ER with seizers it was late. Her lung and heart and airway got permanently damaged. She is on medication, need oxygen daily and inhaler. She can’t stay outside more than 10 min because of her lung function is only 10%. The landscape company told me over the phone that I shouldn’t worry because “ the chemical is harmless to dog only kill insets “. Just let me there is no chemical which harm only insect and not other habitat.

Sorry, but eating organic is not enough to avoid glyphosate, first) because most organic have also some contamination 2) it is in water and air 3) it is in everything, paper (made of wheat), clothes (GMO cotton), clothes washed with contaminated water, vegetable oil made of sprayed produced, corn, canola, soy...

There’s the science part and also the politics-business part. I work with people who grow food for entire populations. Glyphosate is used regardless and will polute the soil for 5-6 years per application. Not everything is as organic as labeled.

Its still being sold in the US .Obma made the monsanto pertection act , they gmo the crops to survive being sprayed with roundup ! Maybe monsanto will gmo humans to make them roundup redy !
