Guys don't use Ahrefs KD in isolation. A low KD just means there aren't a lot of pages ranking. But if there are 15 sites that are massive and aggressive, you're not going to get in the top 15. The KD from Ahrefs might only be 12 but being position 16 is like being dead. You want to check the SERPs on ahrefs to see if there are lower DR pages ranking in the top 10
