Hey the video was VERY heplful. I recently picked up a le potato on sale and followed your directions exactly. Im having audio issues that i cant seem to fix. The volume slider on retropie defaults to 0% and will not stay at 100% after I adjust it. The audio does not want to output through hdmi. Have you had the same issue?

Andrew, Have you had a chance to look into the booting problem with no sound and having to reboot multiple times to get sound. I have tried several different images, and it is the same problem on all. I wonder if everyone has the problem. Sometimes I can get between 1 to 5 boots in a row with no problems and then maybe one or two reboots with no sound. Other then that, it works just like the Raspberry PI.

You're doing god's work, yesterday I tried the OS images for EmuElec and Lakka, both had tons of issues and couldn't seem to run games. Then I installed Raspbian and installed RetroPie on top of that, after four hours I still couldn't get sound to play in-game. Might try the stand-alone image at some point.

Have you been able to setup wifi with this? I keep getting no wlan0 interface detected when I try to tell it to connect (I do have a wifi dongle plugged in.)

Hey bud thanks a bunch! I tried setting up retropie manually on the raspbian os and it was very finiky and didnt like my afterglow 360 controller. After finding the dedicated image everything is running like a champ! PS1 and older gen games are running very smooth. If you have a second to answer I dont see how I can install other emulators on the dedicated Retropie image? I wanted to see if it could run PS2 games but cant find the installer anywhere. Is this because Le Potato isnt powerful enough for it? Is there a Retropie image for the renegade? Or should I pony up the cash and get a Orange Pi 5? I plan on making a couple for family members who enjoyed the older consols growing up and the le potato is at just the right price for extended family christmas gifts.

Is the heat sink completely necessary?

might be silly to ask but is that really the most up to date image for retropi? I wish their website wasn't so outdated, it doesnt even have a link to it on their "downloads" page.
