INSANE 72v Sur Ron ebike Top Speed!

See what happened on my 72v surron top speed runs, and 👀 my electric bike upgrades listed below... Until now, I've been afraid of what might happen when taking this electric bike up to top speed. There's a long list of reasons you should never go this fast on a sur ron x electric bike, but some of my top concerns are speed wobbles that could through the bike out of balance and crash, burning up the sur ron motor due to sending too much power from the chi battery upgrade, or frying my bac4000 controller for my surron. Enjoy the video!

The battery voltage always go down when keeping the throttle to the max. The battery voltage plus the amps determines the watts. For exemple:
81v x 141 amps = 11421w.
72v x 141amps= 10152w.

That’s crazy fast, man take it easy and enjoy life! Be safe!

First vid so I’m not sure if you’ve ever rode motorcycles before, but in case you haven’t, the e-bike most likely felt very stable at higher speeds as is found when riding a motorcycle; the higher the RPMs on a motorcycle, you’ll find that more stability is produced given the physics associated, which makes the motorcycle want to go upright naturally. Fun fact, whenever you’re leaning into a corner, your rpm’s will go up about 2, 000 on average with the exact same throttle input. Could be the same concept here given the mechanics of the e-bike itself.

It’s a good thing to know, as you might find yourself understanding how your bike behaves mid corner or at certain speeds!

Great job on the video! Thanks for making it. Gotta feel sketchy going that fast on what is essentially a bicycle.

More than likely, just like a PC, It probably pulls performance if the controller gets too hot to maintain a safe temp. Like a computer processor reducing clock speeds to reduce temps.

Turn the phase amps down and field weakening up! You can get higher speeds without as much motor heat this way. Yes it will probably take longer to reach top speed but your motor will run cooler. Phase amps give you acceleration and torque. Field weakening increases your theoretical voltage by weakening the magnetic field. You can reach higher top speeds because its doing some magic science stuff that I dont fully understand to get you more voltage than you actually have. Im still learning.

Groovy man. I have the same sprocket and tire you're running. Just got my EBMX 72/42. Looking for that 80mph !. Got 12k tune on the bac4000. Haven't done a speed run cuz it's cold. It's like having a powerful car stereo. You don't need all that but it makes the mid range soo much more solid. Great Info. Cheers 🍻

The motor's RPM can decrease current loaded to it because of impedance rise, which in turn can limit top speed. In this case changing the gear ratio will get you higher speeds since the motor will have to rotate less and be able to receive more current, but will cost you acceleration.

I would stay away from gear oil. A Teflon based or wax based lube would be better and won’t make a mess or attract dirt and muck like oil will.

She’s a ripper. I look forward to upgrading my Talaria to big power soon.

Brother I want that bike, NOW. if you drive REAL world street driving my bike now only hits 40mph. Not a surron, if you avg 30-40 mph wants average RANGE. Love your videos, keep them coming. Thx again video

I think you are seeing the max amperage output of the pack. A dual pack would lessen the sag. You are running a stock motor? When checking chain tension, remove the shock and cycle the suspension all of the way up and down while feeling how tight then chain is. Best way to ruin a chain, running it tight. Stick with chain lube.

It's possible that your controller has a 3 speed setting... from the factory it comes as the middle mode. Maybe the extra 1200 is watts are in that third higher gear setting.

First! And the Sur Ron is looking fresh. Wish i had the money to buy it.

Hello, did you use the stock surron's engine after the tuning?

I get nervous when my ebike hits 20 I can not imagine 60+ on mine, absolutely terrifying Especially because of its lack of suspension + bumps on the roads I take but might splurge on a new seat for it to help with that 😂

I have a fully stock 2022 sur Ron x my top speed is 50mph I weigh 55kg I’m guessing when I get my 72v sur Ron with bac8000 it’ll push 65mph?

How much battery was used for each 70mph pull? Thanks sweet video!! I have 16 inch super moto wheels with a 40t sprocket. I'm curious how fast I will go when my 72v makes it.
