Why I’m BUYING Dividend Stocks Now - ($178k Dividend Portfolio)

So far in 2024 the stock market is booming with the S&P 500 up 16% year to date. Since the fall 2022 crash, the market has rallied over 50%. There is a massive bull run. So what have I been doing? I took advantage of market hype, specifically around AI, and sold a stock at a 200% gain. This gave me over $18k of cash to redeploy and buy new stocks. I used that, along with new capital, to buy over $20k worth of investments. This was in a high quality dividend growth stock which I plan to own well into the future. In today’s video, I’m going to explain why I sold, what I bought, and the overarching logic which helped me reach that decision. This will include some wisdom from investing legends Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. Of course, I’ll give you a full update on the progress of my long-term dividend stock portfolio. If you stick around to the end of the video, then I’ll share another growth stock I bought in my Roth IRA which was an additional $3.5k.

With the state of interest rates right now dividend stocks are the way to go for income generation.

That Altria position is snowballing like crazy! Great stuff man, 11 shares next time, that'll turn into 12 eventually, 13, etc. Being patient pays off!

Spends all his money on Dividend Stocks. That’s why he has to hold his mic by hand instead of have a mount for it.

That’s dedication.

Great video Zack. Too often long term investing gets conflated with the idea of buy and hold [forever], but that's not really the way to beat the market because eventually things either crash up or crash down.

Love the dividend content. You have held disney, which now pays a dividend again and tesla which may in the future. Would be interested to see a video of your top 5-10 stocks to watch who don't currently pay a dividend.

Broadcomm is about to do a 10:1 stock split like NVDA just did. How do you think that will affect their stock? Im still in AVGO and plan to hold it for a while. Thanks.

The most noteworthy stock at the moment is WBA (Wallgreens Boots Alliance).

This stock is currently seen at an absurdly low price level, corresponding to its historical low point.

I don't think the opportunity to buy it at this price will come again for decades to come.

I think this is the 'ridiculously good opportunity' that Charlie Munger spoke of.

Good opportunities don't come often.

Good opportunities sometimes only come once in a lifetime.

Wba's sales are still high, and it appears that it has recently realized net profit.

I think we are still building a solid foundation.

I have been investing in stocks for a long time, but I have not often seen such good opportunities...

The issue with Tesla is that even though it has a amazing balance sheet and decent margins it has extremely poor growth for its price and would need a massive boom to just justify the current price. Its business is also not as stable as the car market fluctuates a lot so imo there are much better opportunities in the market.

How were you able to invest so much at such a young age? I am investing heavily but I can’t keep up with you lol

Although the adage of missing the best 10 days is technically true, no one ever speaks about the other side of the coin. Missing the 10 worst days would up your gains by 2.5 times so there is more value in leaving some money on the sidelines when the market is historically overvalued. Especially since the ten best days usually are followed by the worst days.

Top notch quality content as usual! I’ve learned a lot since I found your channel back in 2022. Made over 23k in gains (75%) on Microsoft when you convinced me to buy it in 2022. It’s now my second largest position in my 401k behind VOO and while I’m not adding much to it currently, it’ll remain a core position.

I appreciate the opportunity cost part of the video. It does make me question if I should sell some Microsoft (maybe my initial amount invested) and allocate elsewhere. I’m always wondering what I should do next but I think I’ll stand pat for now. If Microsoft jumped up to $1000 a share tomorrow I’d probably sell and then allocate elsewhere. Regardless, thank you for the insights man! Love this content!

@1:00 why should investors be cautious if by term investor its a long term game?

What are the best strategies to protect my portfolio? I've heard that a downturn will devastate the financial market, so I'm concerned about my $200k stock portfolio.

@11:44 I still remember last year when they sold TSMC.
