HoOnKo Service- 'Last Words of Shinran Shonin'

HoOnko is the 758th Annual Memorial Service held for Shinran Shonin, the founder of Jodo Shinshu. "HoOnko" means "Gathering to Repay Our Indebtedness" and is the most important special service In Jodo Shinshu. Rev. Gregory Gibbs, resident Minister, Pasadena Buddhist Temple, reads one of the letters from the 8th head of Jodo Shinshu, Rennyo Shonin, as well as the special pronouncement of service. His Dharma message is on the "Last Words of Shinran Shonin". The service will close with the gather "Ondokusan II", words written by Shinran Shonin.
