I think today the situation is different. Kpop is so successful today compared to early 2010s. The curse will probably be broken by loads of current famous kpop girl groups.

For anyone saying "but this group lasted for more than 7 years", the 7-year course isn't only about not disbanding, but it's also about not having line-up changes. Technically this video is right since all of these girl groups have had line-up changes before their 7th anniversary, but they should have explained it at the beginning.

That's what I hate about K-pop industry. When new groups come in, they got a lot of promotions and the company tend to make them shadow the older groups. Result? The fans leave the group to join the Fandom of the new group. No matter how popular the old group was, they'll find a new concept, more attractive, more commercial, more beautiful for the new ones. I see a lot of comments saying that they don't want blackpink to disband, first - I am pretty sure they will disband because of the bad treatment by yg.
Second - People need to respect blackpink's decisions, even if they disband or not, it's not like they would stay as idols forever for us 😑, they need to have their own lives.

Wonder Girls disbanded on their 10th year anniversary. SNSD is on hiatus; SM Ent. and all the members have confirmed this. KARA disbanded on their 9th year.
