When they say Dre is the greatest producer ever, this is partly what they’re talking about. The minutia, the perfectionism. Every sonic detail. It’s more than just programming drums or playing a piano lick. He’s a composer and a conductor. He’s responsible for the entire mosaic.

I’m glad the world really got to hear Eric.

Had the pleasure of being in the studio with him and P where EPMD recorded all the hits in Long Island. So dope to hear the stories and to hear them all talking about the instruments around me in the room that were used on each record.

I seen an interview where Snoop showed Dre how to slow down his flow on certain words to come out clearer with rhymes smother and Dre showed Snoop how to write 16 bars while recording the Chronic.

I'm well passed the idea of being a big-time rapper,
But that's exactly how we wrote our songs back in the 80s and 90s.
"Bring me in" off straight freestyle while recording

That is why I have mad respect for Jay Z too as to how he makes songs. He never write it down. All he does is listen to the beats and after 15-20 mins he'll come to the recording booth with the entire song plus chorus and start spitting straight from his mind. That is an insane talent.

Honestly conducting an interview with a legendary producer like Erick it was hard not to speak for literal hours because there are so many stories
