A fun fact about this scene is that Joey/Matt Leblanc hurt his shoulder when jumping to the chair. That is why in a later episode you see him in an arm sling. :-)

This Joey was perfectly balanced...Dumb in some cases, sure, but still a realistic person...But, on later seasons, Joey just became unrealistically dumb

This was the perfect Joey . Beleive me, he would have been the most popular character of the series if they continued writing him this way . During this time he was dumb at some moments but also realistic when need be. But in later seasons, he was just unreasonably dumb . Also it was more like people used him & he had the worst ending . All settled but he was left alone . It pained to see him leave Rachel for Ross & Chandler leaving him bcs of Monica & mike marrying Phoebe . So he was left alone in all friends. He deserved better.

It was this scene 0:36 when Joey jumped on a chair, he Actually Fractured his hand. Later at a TV talkshow he admitted it was so hurtful but carrying on the scene was necessary. Even with this level of pain he managed to maintain his expressions. Wow, what a professional actor he is!!
And thats why later director decided to shoot next episodes with joey in his bandaid.
