12v led ran off of 18v drill battery tutorial

I used these nilight led lights on my ebike and had a couple people ask me to explain how I had it running off of a drill battery so here you go. I hope it helps.

Great tutorial! Just an FYI… These lights will run fine without the step down. They’re rated for a range from 9-30vdc.

Just a note. If you can not Solder wiring. You can use some wire nuts, Terminal blocks or even wago connectors to secure your wiring. Even overtime that wire will come lose if you move it around a lot even with heatshrink tubing. Oh sorry I forgot you can also use some Crimp connectors. They new ones out there also have heatshrink tubing on it. Over all Very nice setup.

I run these directly on 20v. They work great and are much brighter at 20

I literally have 2 nilight pods and a Ryobi 18v battery 😂 this video is oddly specific to my situation

Would it work without the dc to dc converter. Just using 18v Milwaukee battery?
