I would like to add one additional decrease method to this excellent video. It is called (at least in my German machine knitting books) the "Knittax method" and it creates that defined band of edge stitches that seems to go before the body stitches. That is, the body stitch has to go *behind* the edge stitches when seen from the knit side.

If you plan on using, say, a 5-pronged transfer tool you first take a single transfer tool and transfer the sixt stitch onto the fifth stitch. Now you take the 5-pronged tool and transfer the five edge stitches inward. The innermost of these is the double stitch and it lands on the empty needle you have just created.

It is an additional step but I like the results so I find it worth it.

Thank you!

I just ordered my first knitting machine yesterday, and I'm trying to learn everything I can before it shows up. This was the first thing I thought about, and here you are. Youtube gets me.
