Test out the ring light pointed on the wall you're facing and not directly on you to bounce it. It'll soften the light and spread it out. It should potentially be what your going after idk im not in your head lol.

You need to film though the ring light, as in having the lense smack bang in the middle of the ring light. Having a ring light in any other way defeats the purpose of it. People seem to think putting the ring light above their camera or behind their camera will work, but it does not.
Think of it like how a headlamp works compared to a flashlight, the headlamp illuminates everything you look at no matter the angle you look at it from, whereas a flashlight bounces the light at an angle from the light source to your eye's.

Long way of saying "Use the ring light as it is designed to be used"

If that still does not work, its your camera settings that need adjusting, not the light.
