And right up to this day, the best record by any Yes member by his own is Fish out of the Water. What an incredible prog masterpiece.
Chris Squire, one of the best progressive musicians of all time. A rock and roll legend. Forever missed, never forgotten.

Chris Squire brought funk and swing to prog. It's here and on early Yes albums. And it works.

Fish Out of Water was the best Yes solo album. Songs are better than many Yes tracks.

That was splendid. Just discovered this piece from a live concert in the 70s. This one was much clearer and better produced... just wish the tubular bells were used on this one. Just incredible.

Fish Out of Water is my favorite of the Yes Solo albums if not one of my favorite "Yes" albums. The biggest thing about it is the orchestra in it (Moody Blues fans will understand).

I have to say the biggest takeaway from this video though is Billy Sherwood's guitar playing. Squire is amazing and I love how Jay channels Bill Bruford on the fills here and there, but Billy just sends it on the guitar. Amazing.

Plus, Billy appears to be a Gentle Giant fan too (another plus!).

Hey it's the bass player from Yes and...the bass player from Yes.

If Drama didn't prove it, Fish Out of Water goes further to say Yes needed Chris Squire more than he needed them, and Drama only goes to show that Jon Anderson is not fundamental to making a great album.
