Week #2 of #CoversForCalories went off without a hitch! My sincerest of thank yous to all of those who have participated :) Because of your dedication, we've already gotten "Chandelier" and now, "I Dreamed a Dream"! This was....an exhausting cover for me x) I think I've avoided this cover for some time, because I didn't want it to come off as contrived or fake, ya know? This is just, such a powerful, and doing this without really throwing yourself into it just feels like a sin against man lol So, I've been holding off! But, because of #CoversForCalories, because of YOU GUYS, I could run away from it no longer. I hope y'all enjoy, and keep on sweating people! #CoversForCalories is FAR from over ;)

As always, so many thank you's for continuing to support me on my musical journey. 1:46 okay NOW were getting somewhere! Vocals are getting more powerful by the second
2:17 still can't believe that someone with a tenor voice like Caleb's can hit notes that far in the Baritone range
2:28 No goosebumps yet but they are on the way. And great breath control!

3:10 THERE IT IS! Holy FUCK what a transition from a baritone to tenor range! I feel like someone poured ice water over my back with the chills I got, and the goosebumps are now completely covering my body... Caleb never fails to absolutely amaze me.

This paralysed me. Quite odd to say, but I have never been so moved by a performance that I simply could not move, not blink, not look away for a second. Let me tell you something. I am familiar with pretty much every Fantine and every version of this song. My favorite lyric is "But there are dreams that cannot be..." because it basically sums up my past with a certain person who could never love me back and how it destroyed my life, hence my attraction to "I Dreamed a Dream". Anne Hathaway's performance is the only one that could make me cry, because of how she sang that line, all of the raw emotion behind it. She was the only one who could make me sob. Until today. I was pretty nonchalant listening to this song until you sang that line, and it was like feeling my heart wrenched out a second time. I immediately doubled over crying. And it is because of your emotion, your power and understanding of this song. And I have to give you the biggest bravo I have ever given, because you have captured the soul of a song, which is a very rare gift. So thank you for your talent, and truly, well done. This is the highest compliment I could ever give.

I just shadowed a drama class today and we were talking about the tools of an actor and I saw every one of them modeled in your song. Vocal expression, facial expression, gestures, stance....all of it. Please, take that talent as far as you can. It is a gift. I love how you didn't just sing the song; you performed it. In a lot of covers I've seen, people just focus on hitting the right notes and sounding good but you conveyed the emotions behind the song excellently. You captured Fantine's bitterness perfectly- which made me cry like a baby- and I also love that you didn't change any of the pronouns. An excellent cover :)

I've been listening to this song over and over for a week now sense I found it and the words have had meaning everyday I've heard it... Today they had a different meaning.... Today my beat friend has lost someone very dear to her (again for the 3rd time this year) and right now I'm waiting in the rain listening to it again as I wait for our friend to pick me up and take me to her, so that we can listen to this song together... I hope that anyone who took the time to read this will stay warm in this cold winter, stay dry in this rainy weather, and have no tears shed for unnecessary loss.
