Here's Why I Sold My Mustang GT for a BMW M2

Two door manual sports cars are quickly going away, especially when you don't want to spend a ton of money. I really enjoyed my time with my Mustang GT, however there were aspects of the driving experience that I just couldn't forgive.

Follow along this week as we take a trip to the west coast in order to pick up my very own OG BMW M2.

This video hits pretty close to home for me - I also went from an S550 Mustang GT (2017) to an OG M2 (2017), both 6MT. immensely enjoyed my time with the M2, still miss it now and would love to own another one.

It truly does feel like a special modern day M car! hope you put many enjoyable miles on it

Congrats on the m2. Have enjoyed your videos for a long time and you have cycled through two cars I still own - was interesting to hear your perspective. Looking forward to future videos.

Looking forward to all the content to come, especially with the m2. Your original m235i video was a big reason why I bought my 2014 m235i and I still have it to this day! Great car.

Perfect car! About 4 years ago I rented on Turo a White 2018 M2 with a 6 speed and I still think about that trip! Took it through all the canyons in Malibu and along the coast. Instantly felt like I had driven it my whole life. Just the right size. Just a slight press on the gas and the back end would kick out through the curves, and then correct its self. So much fun. By far the funniest day of my life in a car. Searched for 2 years for a 2018 M2 Laguna blue with a sunroof, 6 speed and low miles…..Nada. Gave up and bought a 2021 Supra which I love but it’s an auto….still fun but nothing like the M2.

Hey great to see you back. I was looking at those M2s…I really like them, for all the reasons you went through. I have an X5 with that N55 - I love that engine. Also, I do think that era BMW dash is really really good. I have a ‘14 BMW and a ‘21, and I like the dash of the ‘14 more. Great purchase and rock on!

I've been looking at these online. Looking forward to your full review!

The N55 in the M2 is an N55+, it is different from a regular N55 and not just a tune. Some forged internals, oil cooling, etc. BMW basically took the 2 series racing engine variant and put that in the M2.

Great video and way better choice of car! Love the alpine white over black, really a classic Beemer combo. I love those years M2’s as they really bridge the gap between new design and BMWs roots, nothing like it. As a fanboy I like your choice. Enjoy it.

The M2 blue is Long Beach Blue Metallic. Laguna Seca Blue was an e46 M3 color that is lighter and non-metallic.
Congrats on acquiring a great car! I am tempted to get one myself while I wait for a G87 M2.

Cool update, and congrats on the M2 and 100k. I've been wondering about my 22 BRZ since Subaru has waffled in standing behind it's 2.4-litre engine. It is making me ponder cars I'm curious about like the MR2 Spyder or an early Boxster S that has had the IMS replaced. I'm looking forward to seeing the M2 journey.

Beautiful car! I would love a N55 M2. Also I appreciate your comparison between that and a M235i. I've always wondered how different they were.

Been an owner of a GT350 for a few years and I love that car so much, but I’ve been eyeing an M2. Love the potential they have with tuning and look so sharp. Not sure what I’ll do, that Voodoo engine is something special though!

I did the same thing, except I traded in my 2017 Mustang GT on a new 2020 BMW M240i x-drive. Had the BMW almost three years now. Best / most fun car I’ve ever had. I miss my Mustang, but I love my M240.

I chose a MT '21 M2C over the Mustang and Camaro primarily because of the interior, the outward view, and the need for an actually usable back seat. I miss the V8 sound constantly, but the turbo 6 torque is no joke. I'll just deal with the exhaust sound, no significant regrets. Like you, I love the overall size of the M2, and how small it feels.

I couldn't agree more. I have had several Corvettes, Camaros, and Mustangs over the past many years. I purchased a new M2CS 2 1/2 years ago. This car is a keeper. So much fun. Will never sell. I will leave it to a family member in my will. They better learn how to drive a manual transmission ( seems to be a lost art with the younger generation).
