Vintage Constellation has been on my radar for a long while, and I am pretty sure one will find its way in my collection.

There are no better watches, only justified personal choices.

Only one day-date you should buy is a 19018

The Omega Constellation never caught my eye UNTIL the latest design! THIS was the “Pearl of Great Price!” So, I sold all that I have, and bought it! (well, I didn’t LITERALLY sell everything, but you know…) But I did buy it. 3 years ago in blue at 41mm. And I put a bespoke dark blue alligator strap on it, a strap Omega should sell it with instead of what does come with it. It’s gorgeous. It is and will forevermore remain the pinnacle of my watch collection. But, that’s just me! 😎⌚️

Explorer II 1655 😍😍😍😍

They’re ridiculously priced and way above what most mortals can afford. 😢

If only Rolex did a reimagining special edition of this watch but in a more modern approach while keeping the DNA of the original. Like Tianium case, a less busy more modern dial with less clutter (not polished numerals), back to acrylic glass, instead of sapphire, for more shutter resistance to impacts and you’re looking at the perfect mountaineers watch.

Sadly we can ONLY dream about it.

My watch collection has recently dramatically expanded to a grand total of 5. My start point though was a 1945 "tank" Jaeger Le Coultre, post Uniplan but I've yet to discover an actual model name, and these can still be had for less than those in the video. It also gets a lot of attention and, despite accepting the fatuous nature of such things, knowing that the maker is held in higher esteem than Rolex does make me smile. My other vintage watch is a Bulova Accutron Astronaut which has the twin pulls of being an intriguing movement and a distinguished hinterland related to test pilots and (fittingly) astronauts.

Britt, great to meet you yesterday and chat (until I got gazzumped by Mr Smiths Everest and Mr FPJ! Although to be fair, WHAT a watch!). Hope you Watch Papi and mini-Gringa had a great time at British Watchmakers Day!!!

Omega Dynamic Geneve is also a great starting point for vintage Omega, I got mine for $500 and it looks amazing.

I love vintage watches. It's so hard to pick a favorite. There are so many available choices that are just perfect.

Omega Constellation was my entry point into classic watch collecting. Have several 50s and 60s models. Love the simple, clean and elegant designs. Nothing too flashy and always look good.

Amazing video. Thanks Gringa.

Ethical question... I found the smallest Constellation I've ever seen (20'ish mm) in an estate Jewelry store. The owner said it was from the '70s. It was adorable, I've never seen one that small and it has a little, tiny Observatory on the back. However, it's wayyy too small even for my 6.5'" wrist.

Should I buy it because I think it's super cool or leave it for someone who can wear it?

Vintage and neo-vintage is where its at. Interesting Longines Ultra-Chrons, GS 45's, Seamaster chronos, Speedy Mark II's. So much to discover.

Majority of watch designs I like are vintage. With some exceptions that got discontinued in the 90s or early 2000s. I have 4 vintage watches so far and had good luck with all of them but you have to know your stuff when it comes to vintage

Vintage watches are awesome because they have a style that is not available any other way. I own a birth year watch; not easy with my birth year being 1964. But I found a beautiful Bulova on eBay. Perfectly appropriate, as Bulova and I both started in New York.

My favorite vintage piece is my gold plated 1972 Tissot Seastar. The price was extremely affordable and the cost of a complete service wasn't bad; just over $500. The watchmaker even buffed out a scratch on the crystal.
