I am disabled and, unfortunately, have a lot of time on my hands. When these scammers call I watch YouTube videos and waste their time for as long as possible. I consider my little way of providing a public service.

I get about three of these calls every day. I never hang up. I play them out as long as possible. If they are going to make me suffer, I am going to make them suffer.

I am so upset. Emily from Card Services calls me weekly. I really thought she cared about me. Now I find out she's really a dude in India.

I've been able to get scammers screaming mad with:
- Does your mother know you're a criminal?
- Does she know how low you've sunk, every day trying to steal from people?
- What would she say if she knew what you are doing?
- Wouldn't she be horrified?
- Won't your family be dishonored when they learn that you are a good-for-nothing thief?
- Aren't you embarrassed to have this kind of job?
- Can you not find honest work?
- How do you live with yourself?
etc.

I answer the phone "New York State Police, Internet Crimes Division, Sargent Gale speaking, how can I help you?" and you hear a click right away and they never call again.

I once told a scammer that that if they were from my bank they would know my father's maiden name, that screwed up her script

When I get these calls I always ask to speak with a supervisor and then ask them that I want of order a large pizza with a side salad. I usually really pisses them off.

When asked for the expiration date of my card, I tell him that I'll have to go get it and the response is always, "OK, take your time." so I do. I put him on speaker phone and go about my business. Eventually they come back asking if I'm there or if I've got the card and I always tell them I'm still looking for it. You can waste a lot more than 5 minutes doing this.

Every body who received these calls should answer and waste their time. Keep them on as you can.

Dude, that was hilarious! I remember once, in the early 1990's, some guy (who actually spoke real English, not a foreigner) called my house. He knew my name, and exclaimed excitedly that I had won a prize, in their sweepstakes! I knew I had not entered a sweepstakes, so I immediately knew it was a scam. But I acted excited, asked a gazzilion questions, and kept him on the line for at least 20 minutes, going over the possibilities of what I had won. (there were a number of possibilities). After a while, I finally got serious, and asked, "Ok, how much is this "prize" gonna cost me?" I could hear the demeanor change immediately. The guy knew he had been had. Then he begrudgingly went over the cost list, of the coupons I had to buy, to be "entered" to win one of the prizes. They wanted $750! Like I am gonna write a check for that amount, to get a few coupons, and to (less likely than more) win a prize! I told him I didn't have that kind of money, but I sure did enjoy talking to him, and to call back, anytime! He never did.
