The fact that they refused the call and instead went to their lawyer suggests to me that they're more concerned about the power of the committee and/or DOJ than they are afraid of being disloyal to Trump and that's a beautiful thing. The DoJ not wanting to indict trump for crimes he commited while in office is one thing, but letting him get away with witness tampering as a private citizen is something else altogether, and a very big mistake.

Even though we don't know who the person is, they considered getting a call from TFG or someone in his administration, consulted with their lawyer, and that lawyer contacted the committee. For the committee to publicly say the issue is being referred to the DOJ, that is not a nothing burger IMHO
