Wow! The sapling is slowly growing into a tree! I don't have the game myself, but I've seen some footage. The animals sometimes wander underwater where there are no trees and perish. Maybe make it so animals could swim, or make aquatic attachments so they don't instantly break? Not forcing, just an idea, and I know that developing updates takes a while.

The spiraling scales of pine cones exhibit an interesting pattern. Counting the clockwise & counter-clockwise spirals, the two values are always consecutive Fibonacci numbers. The most common consecutive Fibonacci pairs seen in pine cones are 5, 8 and 8, 13.

love this game! i have a few ideas though, and they are:
a new type very large/flat leaves, like earth jungle plants have
a radial symmetry option for animals
fungi
aquatic creatures/plants
armor for animals
easier ways to navigate the menu for viewing species
in the menu for viewing species, perhaps a "tree of life" sort of evolutionary chart

breathing parts for animals, perhaps also with a smell mechanic

If you would want a way to show that plants have less chance of self pollinating if that’s a thing you’re planning on adding. you can just make The distance between the pollen bearing Oregon. and the stigma of the ovary. more separated from each other that way there’s less chance of self pollination. or if you want a flower that can self pollinate have it have a male flower, and a female flower😊

I wonder if it would be beneficial to use photo references of plants that are already common on earth?
Roses, dandelions, cherry blossoms, crocuses, hydrangeas and many others... Having reference material will help in creating a large biodiversity and add variety.
I would encourage you to take a look at different trees, shrubs, grasses, mosses and fungi to also help in the creation of plants. (Don't fungi and moss break down rock into soil, so that it's usable for other life to utilize?
