Which Vehicles Are Eligible for UberBlack in NYC? (2022)

🗽🍎 New York City is one of the largest luxury for-hire transportation markets in the world. NYC is also likely one of Uber's largest 'UberBlack' ⬛ markets. In fact, in its early days, Uber was an all-luxury service (Uber was only UberBlack).

In this video, we overview which vehicles currently (July 2022) qualify for Uber's premium UberBlack & UberBlack SUV offerings in NYC. In the near future, we will also create videos related to Lyft's premium service offerings and vehicles we recommend for UberBlack & UberBlack SUV in NYC. Note, UberBlack and UberBlack SUV vehicles are almost always eligible to do UberX , UberXL and Uber Comfort trips.

We also wanted to highlight the somewhat confusing ❓guidance from Uber related to vehicles that are listed as ⚠️ ONLY ⚠️ qualifying for 'UberBlack Hourly', a chauffeur-like offering, but ⛔ NOT ⛔ UberBlack. In addition, we also wanted to flag 🚩🚩🚩 that the UberBlack NYC eligible vehicle list can unexpectedly change 😨 - both in terms of model year qualifications & vehicle make & model.

Uber scammers….how about the Mercedes E-Class Wagon listed for XL…but not R-Class? I argued them in person at the Hub 5 years ago still not fixed. Currently asking them for what Rivian R1S qualifies for…they’re saying follow the list…then arguing they tell you it doesn’t qualify. But they want to add/switch to green cars … and by the way, good point about makes and models don’t even exist in USA.
Just one more point to mention in regards to their list being changed, that’s exactly what has happened after me convincing them E-Class Wagon is not an XL and I am getting an R-Class, they came up a year later with the 5 year old max for Black and they kicked me out. So I am currently doing X which is 95% of my business and obviously XL cause I fought them for it, in a 7 passenger vehicle with some of the most leg room possible adjustments (yes, better than a GL-class I also had), unfortunately and by the way good point about the “Comfort trips”, not even those I qualify for. That’s like a Honda Accord shit…Go to Uber rider app see the clear description about cars with leg room for comfort…how in the world a sedan has more leg room than a 7 passengers? No wonder why these guys are brought to court daily….too bad simple people bringing all the capital and running most of the expenses, the majority of them, including myself cannot run the justice. Stupid big bucks pay management and they cannot answer a simple question like what I can do with a Rivian R1S.

They shoot themselves in the foot because as far as I know their competitors know how to better counter attack. Do Rideshare SUV with Q7’s X5’s, QX60’s, Volvos, Acuras….and when their riders are looking for a decent car, they have nothing to send cause vehicles don’t qualify…but again, they want you to follow their list and do XL with an E-Class Wagon…shame
