I hope I can live to see the day when BuckyPaper is used in almost all everyday things.

I vote carbon as the most awesome element on the periodic table. The second most awesome is silver (did you know that silver nano particles are the most powerful antibiotic, capable of also killing viruses unlike regular antibiotics?). The future is here, folks. The reason we are not seeing it in practice is because this technology is VERY disruptive to current industries and so there are no doubt industry lobbyist lobbying hard to keep this technology at bay.

I have been debating the practicality of solar roadways (search Solar Freakin Roadways on YouTube) and this technology could be incorporated into the project. Heck, instead of solar roadways they could be buckypaper roadways.

If carbon fiber is very expensive, I don't even want to know how expensive this material will be. But that could all change in the not too distant future.

Still waiting… Remember this video when I was a kid!! Where’s is it?

Also, for finer applications, you can functionalize the surface of nanotubes to allow your body clear them out of your lungs/blood stream fast enough to completely avoid any harmful effects.

around 2014 or so, I watched this thinking the future will be peak

it is 2023 and everything is shittier than I expected

We should stick to steel beams for building because jet fuel can't melt them.

So who are the market leaders? Who do we invest in to cash int?...

Quick question, for the implementation of buckypaper in cars. Would the car be fully electric? Or will simply improve the fuel efficiency of modern fuel-celled vehicles?

Guy's this is gonna be awesome think of what mankind can achieve with this form of paper!!
it's really awesome to get a sneaky clance of the future but what sadden's me is that it's gonna take 10 to 30 year's for this to fully come out
plus if you count in the greedyness of the Oil company's :-/

@posturize They found that if they change widen the ends of the nanotubes then the cells no longer attack the nanotubes as they are too big to be absorbed by the cells and they no longer have that effect.

What would a version of a nonslip work shoe that lasts forever cost? Something good for washing dishes at Denny's Restaurant?

Here we are 10 years LATER and STILL DONT HAVE CARS MADE OF BUCKYPAPER

@drboldphd1 yea but there are many types of nanotubes, and quite a bit (espescially multiwalled) do not have any or as bad effects as single walled nanotubes. Nanotubes are engineered with extreme precision. Now that we know how it badly affects the body, we can engineer NTs so that the mechanism does not occur

@drboldphd1 you are missing the point. this isn't a cereal commercial.
