WAGTAILS

Western Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava), Grey Wagtail (Motacilla alba) and White Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) in the Netherlands.
Wagtails are slender, often colourful, ground-feeding insectivores of open country in the Old World. Species of wagtail breed in Africa, Europe and Asia, some of which are fully or partially migratory. Two species also breed in Alaska, and wintering birds may reach Australia. (source Wikipedia). 13 species are recognized of which 3 are regurlaly found in the Netherlands.

👍 #70 What a fabulous bird the Yellow Wagtail is. There have been a few fairly close to me with regular sightings. However, each occasion I tried to locate them, I seemed to be just behind them with other birders telling me they saw it 'an hour ago' etc. Ilove the scene with the Grey Wagtail feeding young on the bridge too. great editing and video my friend. 👍◕‿◕

That Grey Wagtail chick made me laugh, looking like he's overdoing the wagging so much. i have never seen Grey or Yellow Wagtails in Europe, but now i can enjoy them often in February/March, when they pass through in huge flocks, haunting the new rice fields. i love them all Thank you for the cute collection, Udo.
