I had arrived maybe 3 months before in the US. Didn't know much English. My father and I were coming from Philadelphia at night, going back to our home in D.C. we had just entered Delaware when this song came on the radio. The sound, the rhythm, and that guitar solo, man I got hooked.
That was 42 years ago. I can remember everything from that moment as if it happened just last night. The power of music.

My favorite of all time. It was Summer 1978, we were on holiday in Scotland. At that time the music scene was punkrock... Then we passed a cafe or pub and heard this new sound. So refreshing, so sparkling, so clean, so melodic! No idea from which group? Then back in Holland we know for sure: Dire Straits. I've seen them twice live in concert Thanks, Mark!
