i honestly question on how effective this is compared to one or two props doing the same bhp. I think in this setup the neighbouring prop will influence the water flow on the other neighbouring one big time.

An outboard is a very flexible power option, but for some reason there would be a better option than putting 9 of them on a boat, my guess is they get into very shallow water and have the raise the units out of the water.
