Just for anyone watching this now’s reference, they’ll only do this for free for 3 years Apple told me and since I bought mine more than three years ago it would be $235 to fix they said, so obviously buying new ones would be cheaper at that point.

I work at Apple support and yes whenever we get any person with that issue.. I replace them instantly without a second though.. provided it meets the replacement requirements.. infact i let them know myself that there is a program like that and i will replace them for free..

Had the save exact thing. 1st gen. They said my serial number didn’t fall into the list of numbers spaced for the replacement. After wasting hours of my time on tech support and in the store. They could’ve told me that right up front

I had static in mine, booked an appointment and they took them in the back, tested them, turned out both were faulty and they gave me a new pair it was great service

Apple “genius” here, this is exactly the right way to do it just keep in mind that they have to fail the audio test in order for you to qualify for the program.

Also I cannot be three years since you’ve originally bought the item (didn’t matter if you’ve had them replaced before), for some reason after three years it just won’t let us

Edit:: sadly, it did not work for me. Apparently, when I went I was a week shy from this policy. They no longer honor it. We are better off not buying these pros because once one goes bad they make you buy a whole new set anyways

I was told that only handful of eligible AirPods Pro are eligible for this. They lookup by serial to determine if eligible for replacement

Apple is known for having great customer support, my iPad wasn’t working well after two years and they changed it for free after a simple test. They are awesome.
