I love the "John and Julie" film and each time I watch the film I am moved to tears. However I am also moved to tears when I listen to the title music, played by the late great Eddie Calvert. I am also moved to tears, each time I listen to Eddie Calvert playing "Oh Mein Papa." Eddie Calvert, was also known as "The Man With the Golden Trumpet."❤

Watched this film in my aunts house in the early eighties, I think I was about 11 or 12 at the time absolutely loved it, one of my all time favourite movies, have it on dvd now and I never tire of watching it over and over again, with a great cast including sid james, Peter sellars, to name but a few, and now sadly that the Queen has passed Away, this movie is all the more poignant as it tells the story of her coronation through the eyes of two children who run away from home to see her crowned, RIP your majesty

One of my very favourites of the fifties. On a 78 rpm with a  wind up gramophone. Days of innocence and pleasure. Will they come around again ?

Wow! what memories Eddy Calvert brings back of the great 1950's! I remember toy shops featured an 'Eddy Calvert' golden trumpet. clevery made of gold plastic with three stops in a presentation box for the pricely sum of 17/6! Sorry to learn he died so young. thanks for the memory!  Pete 'Kiwi' Keegan ( 1950's TVskiffleman)
