Diamonds are actually much more common than gold in the earth's crust. Its value is kept artificially up through supply control and by creating a need through subtle advertisements. Remember "Diamonds are a girl's best friend", "Diamonds are forever" and so on. :-)

Have u heard of rapaport report of diamonds. It updates diamond prices every month and every diamond that is bought or sold is based on a price calculated by rapaport. The only thing is people are not aware about it. If u know the how to identify a good diamond, it can be the best investment that there is.
