Full blog text and photographs shown in the video can be found here:

In this video we follow Australian landscape photographer Michael Boniwell as he explores Bermagui and Kiama on the New South Wales south coast looking for coastal landscape photography subjects. We capture images of three sea stacks, including Lone Tree Rock and Camel Rock at Bermagui and the popular Cathedral Rocks at Kiama Downs.

Finding inspiration Michael creates three vertical landscape photographs and explains his reasoning related to composition and using the light at hand.

This is part one of a three part video series covering an extended photography trip. In the next episode we move up into the mountains, so make sure to look out for that one.

HEllo there! You know sometimes the YouTube algorithm works well as this video was put into my suggested list and wow I am glad it was! Fantastic work 😀 Beautiful images, that first location is incredible! Its been many moons since I was in Australia, I'd love to go back! Someday maybe. Looking forward to the rest of your videos. Beautiful rugged location and beautiful pictures. Your pictures of the spray all seem to have just the right amount of blur - what is your typical shutter speed?

Hi Michael a great little vlog. I have been fortunate to shoot in both Bermagui and Kiama. You are spot on when describing the path down to the lone tree sea stack. I did it with two other photographers in the pitch black so didn’t see a thing on the way down. On our return I was stunned by the path and probably would never of attempted it if I had seen it. Beautiful images from all three locations. 🙂🙂

Thank you Michael! Beautiful. Roughly, what is your exposure time for your typical sunrise/sunset shots?

Thanks for some wonderful images Michael - I love the seemingly endless depth of detail from the GFX and if my financial controller allowed it I'd love one. The colours from it aren't too shabby either! Some of those wet rocks truly treacherous. The wonders of Google brought this clip to my attention because I have loose plans to erm... hump my gear down to Camel Rock and the region in general in a few months. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.) Looking forward very much to part 2.

Lovely images mate. Have you tried the GF 20-35? I'm using the 23mm as well but thinking I'd like the flexibility of the zoom. Excellent performer by all accounts.
