How I got 44 in the IB (5 tips + FREE Notes)

Hello!

As requested by some peeps, here is a video on how I got my IB score.
I wouldn't consider myself the perfect student, so it wasn't easy pinpointing what I did to get my score. I had to reflect "like super deep" on my DP years, which is why this video took so long 😭. I hope you enjoyed my video and consider my honest advice and tips.

You might have noticed that I quote Mark Manson a lot, and that's because his book, "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a f," inspired this video. Definitely go check out this book if you have the chance.

I'm starting IB basically in three weeks and I found this video a couple of months ago and I keep coming back to it - the advice is so helpful, it's not just repeating what everyone is saying and it's also no bullshit. Besides that, you are really easing my anxiety because I chose maths AA HL and I'm not THAT good at maths, but if you didn't die after the hardest available HLs AND a Bio AP than maybe I'll be fine.

EDIT: I finished my first year a month ago and it's so crazy coming back to this video but it still brings me comfort for some reason and I'm already anxious about the second year bshsjsj. Also I didn't die because of maths hl YET :))

EDIT: Idk if this is stupid but I personally enjoy turning this comment into my little ib diary :)) Anyway I just finished term 1 one of DP 2, my predicted in Maths HL is a 7 actually !!! (cannot believe it) The stress is a lot and it's really hard and I stumbled into this video yet again while watching all of these ib tips videos to convince myself that if other people did it maybe I can do it too lol

omg bro i started ib recently and chose the exact same subjects as you except i have econ instead of ess. its only been like a month and a half but i feel so drained and my grades are falling (esp for math, i got a 4😭) LMAOO a part of me died inside cuz ive been a straight A* student my whole life 💀 💀 BUT THANK YOUSO MCUH for this video im so happy for you congrats on your 44!! you are my motivation bae im subbing

This is such a good video. I have just finished my pre-ib with straight As (so i am starting year11 this year), and i get so worried that I wont be able to do the diploma. Honestly, I still dont know if ill be able to do it, but this video made me a lot more hopeful.

ESS is so bad in my school because the teacher literally never taught us the main parts of ess which is in topic 1.. and taught every other topic horribly. She tried to convince us that it was our fault for bad grades but finally she got fired in D2. A year of ESS gone to waste so I’ll definitely be looking at your notes too 😂 thank you

I agree 1000% with all that you said. I also got a 44 (exam route) with math AA HL, Econ HL, Spanish B HL, Business SL, English SL, ESS. After the exams I declined the offer from UCL because I thought I wouldn’t get the 39 with 766. Everyone told me otherwise, but I still did it. In the end I ended up with a 44 777 in a worse school (although I liked the modules more). Note I got rejected from all 3 of my dream unis. Anyway, I wish you all the best :).
