Good afternoon ma'am !
This is an amazing explanation..
Although I have a doubt here and would be grateful if you cleared it out !

I was in a CBSE school and we had a poem 'The road not taken' by Robert Frost and there he mentioned that he took the road less travelled by .. and here Whitman has stated the term "brown road " ..so is it similar to that ..
In road not taken the grassy road is the path of life many few people chose while the one which was worn out was something everyone chose. And similarly does this imply that this brown road is a metaphor to show he took the one everyone chose?
And if not why brown road specifically ?

Also, sorry for this long message hope you reply soon.

Thank you !!
