Malifaux All Factions Explained!

Do you need help deciding which of the Malifaux factions is for you? Let's go over a bit of the backstory for each of the factions, get a sense for their feel and flavor, and a quick bit about how they play. As a note, there are very different playstyles available among the crews in each faction, so my comments on how they play are to be taken very generally.

What faction are you most interested in?

The neverborn family tree is cool, I've not looked into their lore much and just thought of them as the monsters. This sheds them in a new light!

Now I comment first! One faction that surprised me was resurrectionists, normally I am not mega into necromancers but Malifaux really gave me a love for necromancy and related stuff.

The Breachside Broadcast is amazing I cant recommend it enough. Its an official reading of the games lore. Its much easier to play around masters you want as opposed to whole factions with the addition of keywords also.

I've only played a few games, all with Parker Barrows, but looking forward to playing with the other crews. Can't wait for your breakdowns in the coming weeks!

I am just getting into the game and I chose the Arcanists. Always like the rebels with the cause of freedom.

I really like Kaeris but I felt an army with her as the leader would be a little bit a of a one trick pony as it is all fire, Fire, FIRE!

So I am starting out with Ironsides and I intend to have a strong Unionized army with a few constructs for good measure.

We'll see how it works.

Thankfully the decision was made for me, since every swag bag at last year's Adepticon came with a random Malifaux master sprue. It just took me most of a year to discover that it was Malifaux, since it doesn't say Malifaux anywhere on the sprue or rules card! Here's hoping I like Titania. I think I'd have picked the Neverborn anyway.

I really want to like the Neverborn more. I like the monsters aesthetic and I like trickery mechanics. But my issue with them is that they're argueabley the good guys! And I like playing the bad guys. 😆

Why would you not rerecord the intro to get rid of the flickering doll? So hard to watch
