The girl at 0:16 can clearly see the car yet goes in front anyway. Plus the fact that the guy looks alert too. He clearly expected to just be able to keep driving instead of having to slam on the brakes for some suicidal teen jumping in front of his car.
Edit: Looking back, she appears to be looking down and un-focused, which is her fault for not looking both ways before crossing a street. Even at the speed limit, at that distance, she would still probably be severely injured. Most of the last accident is the pedestrian not being aware.

If you are the publishers of this ad and reading this, I got some bad news for you. This doesn’t change many people’s perspective on driving faster or slower, and the part about it being a little over the speed limit and the end result was that a girl was hospitalized just seems near impossible, the guy looked very aware and was driving at a decent speed enough to only cause minor damage at that. I understand your point but the last one just seems very far fetched.

So where I live now in SC our neighborhood is 20 mph. Where I used to live in NY our neighborhood was 30 mph. I guess if I drive 25 mph in the 20 mph neighborhood it will cause significantly more damage than if I was going the 30 mph speed limit. Guys just remember speed limits are truly keeping us safe from harm because it’s safer to drive 30 mph than 25 mph in a neighborhood. 🤷‍♂️
