Remuria was a civilization that existed in Fontaine before the Hydro Archon Egeria came into power. Currently, the remains of this ancient kingdom rest beneath the waves of Fontaine, hiding its true history. In this video, I go over the timeline of Remuria and how events truly unfolded.

Hmm so that's why Scylla looks like the Narwhal due to him staying in the Primordial Sea guarding Egeria for who knows how long, he probably drink the Primordial Sea and with how Vishaps are all about evolutions he turned like that.

I know this is a remuria video, but does anyone else feel like Egeria becomes more powerful each time new information about her is released? She went from a water goddess who got killed to the (replacement) heart of the sea, to one of the first beings created after primordial one conquered Teyvat, to the goddess who created her own humans, and now to the one who can enlighten even god king remus. Feel like she's second only to the primordial one & shades in Teyvat and act as their artificial dragon sovereign. I wonder if she and Zhongli are the same kind of god, as in, the first generation of gods created directly by primordial one serve as replacement for the defeated dragons, given how ancient both of them are

Both Remus and Deshret attempted to create collective consciousnesses. Deshret through the golden slumber, and Remus through Phobos and the Grand Sympthony. And both of them were likely trying to become Descenders. Narzissenkreuz says in his questline that by dissolving all Fontainians with primordial seawater, he could absorb them all and become a transcendant super-being whose will rivals a world. A descender. It’s very likely Remus and Deshret were trying to do the same thing, as both of them wanted to rebel against Celestia and against “fate”.

It seems like Descenders are the only ones who can actually change “fate.” So the traveler is gonna end up being the one to reweave Teyvat’s fate. And the abyss order’s plan with the loom of fate is to have the abyss twin and/or Caribert become that for them. Only their plan is flawed because the abyss sibling isn’t a descender. Unless the Sinner is a descender, their plan will fail at a fundamental level.

Remus is sort of an amalgamation of mythical Remus (brother of Romulus) and their ancestor Aneas. Aneas was a Trojan who survived the trojan war and moved his remaining people to Italy.

Since Sumeru is a huge melting pot inspired by Egypt, the middle east, and further east into southern asia, it also makes sense to include Turkey in there.

So Genshin Remus basically did what both Aneas and Romulus did in our real world myths about them. Left Troy and founded Rome.

Oh yeah about egeria, in roman mythology, egeria is the name of water nymph who's the advisor and lover of the second king of rome. She's the one who taught the king about legislation, politics, and social studies.
Since we have the king of rome version in genshin, I was wondering the connection between egeria and remus. Egeria was indeed king Remus' advisor, but according to the current lore, it's not enough to say that she's remus' lover. My suggestion is... how if egeria did the same thing as scylla? By making the locknights "siding" with erinnyes to achieve remus' goal. Not to mention remus got the goblet of primodial water after visitting egeria, then use that water to make the human golems. Could that be the goblet remus had is the pure grail that erinnyes hoped to get after fighting in the name of egeria? Man if my theory is true then poor erinnyes

Fontaine seems to have no nail. At first i thought maybe the tower with the fog, then later Remuria, but now i dont know, maybe what made the unnatural ground raise, i doubt its natural formation, it looks anything but natural.

Though I have finished the world quest with carefulness and patience, reading every notes I encountered through the journey, I still cannot manage to put all the pieces together and make up a comprehensible story of the rise and fall of Remuria. Thanks a lot for this video! It really makes everything clear and plain to understand. It must take a lot of time and energy to make this video, thanks for your dedication!

Time to listen to my nightly podcast! I treat these videos like episodes, it's so much fun since even though I read all the text in every quest, I don't catch everything, so I really respect YouTubers like you for breaking down everything :))

3:30 Actually this is slightly wrong. Cassidor was not from Armorica, and Erinneyes was not originally from there.

According to the description of the Splendor of Tranquil Waters, they both came from the same tribe which was eventually slaughtered by a Remurian army, leaving them as the only survivors. Cassiodor met the Harmost Boethius and joined the side of Remuria, while Erinnyes, who had been hiding amidst the bones, was taken in by the chieftain of the northern border region tribe Aremorica to "guard those pure waters not yet seized by the God King."

Quote: This water-blue scepter once belonged to a knight named Erinnyes who, in the time of the song of harmony, unified those of the high waters who rebelled against the gods.

Legend has it that her home was destroyed early on by the wrathful God King, with an army from the Golden City enslaving or killing her family.
Only two were to escape that fate. One met with the proud Harmost during the war and ultimately rose to inherit his authority.

The other received the grace of the Mistress of Many Waters and was taken in by the Prince of Aremorica, to guard those pure waters not yet seized by the God King.
