The second verse reminds me of my grandmother who has Alzheimer's and Dementia. My mom, sister and I have been the only ones taking care of her out of her 5 children she has... about 3 years now she hasn't called me by my name unprompted. She always calls me Sharon and what hurts even more is that she talks about my aunts and uncles by name when they don't even make an effort to come see her on their own. No help. No holidays no "happy birthday mom" . It kind of hurts but I know I can't fault her and it's just the nature of the disease...
