The session at the Smart Policies for Green Financial Inclusion conference highlights successful approaches from the AFI network and beyond. Increasing access to insurance can protect vulnerable people against climate-related threats, like droughts, rising water levels, the spread of disease, and the increase of pests that endanger crops and carry diseases.

Moderated by Mr. Bram Peters, Program Manager, PFIP. Panelists include:
- Ms. Anna Vardikyan, Coordinator of the Financial System Stability and Development Department, Central Bank of Armenia
- Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Rezaul Islam, Executive Director of Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority, Bangladesh
- Ms. Andrea Camargo, Chief Strategy Officer, Microinsurance Catastrophe Risk Organisation, SCC (MiCRO)

Part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), the AFI Green Financial Inclusion workstream is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), based on the decision of the German Bundestag.
