There have been a few exceptional players in the history of the sport, and Roberto Carlos was definitely one of them. He was like no other player. An incredible left back with rocket speed, and deadly left foot! Those who haven't seen him playing live, would never understand what I mean. I remember Madrid was playing against Dortmund in UCL. In an unforgettable moment for me, Jan Koller, Dortmund's Czech forward with the height of a 202 cm received a cross above all Madrid defenders, he jumped for a header, but the ball never touched his head. Because a 168 cm Brazilian missile, named Roberto Carlos jumped like crazy and deflected the ball right above Jan Koller! Everybody today, is talking about Robert Carlos kicking the ball with unmatched power. But those who remember the golden era of Football know that not only was he insanely fast, but he could jump no less than Cristiano Ronaldo could jump in his prime. One of my all time favorite athletes ever.
